Welcome
The race for the office of Mayor of Maricopa in 2008 is an extremely important one for our city. The issues that will shape and determine the future of our citizens at large are first and foremost on my mind. From slow business and housing starts to problems with transportation and roadways I have become alarmed, like most of you, with the general direction our current leaders are heading. Instead of allowing our city to be driven by whatever our housing economy happens to be at the time, our city leaders need to take control of our own economic future. When was the last time the Mayors office reached out to you and asked, "What would make life better for your family here in Maricopa?"
As Mayor I will do just that.
**Please take a moment to look at the new "Straight talk on the Issues" page to see real answers to our issues instead of the "political" answers that the other candidates are giving. It is time for straight talk, it is time for transparency, it is time to get the job done instead of just talking about it. I have challenged the other candidates to come forward with specifics, not rhetoric. The citizens of Maricopa deserve a chance to make an informed decision.**
It is vital that the next Mayor of Maricopa be one with the insight of the people at large, with the goals and concerns of its citizens first and foremost. As your Mayor I will work very hard to attract the types of businesses that will promote the growth that this city so desperately needs to revitalize its fragile economy and boost the local housing market while still maintaining our small town feel. Maricopa can no longer afford to play catch up. Our approach must be proactive instead of reactive. Forward thinking and an aggressive economic plan are the key to making Maricopa prosper in 2008 and beyond. If we are to attract industry and homeowners, we need to be ready for them and welcome them with not only open arms, but with plans and provisions for their continued success here.
Like many of you, my family was drawn to Maricopa for its small town charm and friendly atmosphere. The events in the park, a friendly game of basketball, and seeing friends at the local stores and hangouts are all reasons why we settled here. This will always be important to all of us and economic growth does not mean having to give that up. It means enhancing it. With the proper leadership we can bring in services and amenities that will only expand the attraction of small city life in the Arizona desert.
**Check out the "Thought of the Day" page where every day I will post a comment, concern, or idea based on an issue raised by you, the community**
REMEMBER- I am a "Write-in" candidate on the March 11th ballot. That simply means that you must write my name on the blank line provided and then make an "X" to vote for me...
